What’s included in the cost
Tuition from Richard Hooper, a Master Upholsterer and experienced tutor. A light lunch is provided each day with morning and afternoon refreshment (tea, coffee, delicious cake etc!) also included.
What’s not included in the cost
A small charge is made for sundry consumables used such as tacks and twine etc. depending on the size of furniture you are working on.
The basic upholstery ‘build‘ materials such as webbing, hessian, stuffing and calico etc are charged by the metre/ kilo as appropriate, noted as they are used, and then paid for at the end of the course.
We have a wide and varied range of fabric books from which you can order your top cover fabric (this is normally delivered next day*). We also carry an excellent range of trim samples including scroll gimps, braids, cords etc.
You may wish to bring your own top cover fabric with you (just ensure it is suitable for the job in hand, ie. of upholstery grade).
